FEMINIST CAMP NYC

You're someone with a passion for feminism but you're not quite sure how that's going to translate into your professional life. Or, you're sick of hearing people ask you "what you can do" with a Women's/Gender Studies degree. Our flagship Feminist Camp program in the Big Apple is designed to help you identify your next steps for applying your feminist passion to your professional or beyond-college life. Use your extra-curricular time to attend a Broadway show, visit a world-class museum, grab a drink at Stonewall, see the Statue of Liberty, or go shopping at radical feminist bookstore Bluestockings.

$1,000 // Tuition + Meals Fee (Monday morning through Friday evening)
$500 // Housing Fee* for six nights lodging

WHAT TO EXPECT
Where you will stay: Campers will be placed in the Pod Hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and will share the room with a fellow camper. Check-in will open around noon the day before the programming begins. This way you can make your way into the city, get settled, and meet some of the fellow campers before the camp kicks off!
The Average Day: Programming typically begins early in the morning, continues throughout the day and concludes around dinner time. Campers will be provided breakfast, lunch, and snacks throughout the day. Events and meetings will be placed all throughout the city and campers will do lots of walking…make sure to bring some comfy shoes! Program assistants will lead and direct campers to each meeting, so no need to stress about navigating the city on your own!
The Average Night: Once the scheduled events for the day end, campers have the freedom to explore the city, try some New York bites, and further connect with campers!

Shannon M.
Shannon (Feminist Camp NYC Summer '14) double majored in neuroscience and cinema studies at New York University. After working in research and educational television, she became a passionate science educator in the Bronx, where she co-leads a Girls in Science Club and tries to save the world, one pupil at a time.
